Liverpool Organic Brewery Limited was established in September 2008. The objective was a simple one, to produce great tasting beers using the best ingredients. This philosophy gave birth to the company's maxim "Quality over Compromise"
After a year of intensive research and development, the company started trading in September 2009. Since then a substantial local customer base has been established. During 2011 and 2012 growth has continued and the company now regularly supplies customers in London, Brighton, Leeds, York, Manchester to name just a few.
We only use certified organic malt and whole hop flowers so all brews begin with the finest ingredients. All our grain comes from the UK’s premier maltster, Warminster Maltings, the oldest and one of the few remaining floor maltings in the country. It is the same for hops. Our supplier Charles Faram has the best and largest range of the finest hops from all over the world.
The decision to go organic gave rise to great discussion. Organic malt is 50% more costly then conventional malt, and three times the price paid by the larger national breweries. So why go organic? We think it's better, we'd rather brew and drink a pint of beer that has been grown without resort to chemical pesticides and artificial fertilisers. It's more natural and more sustainable.
We don’t cut costs or corners. Each ale is developed through tasting, testing and research. We work closely with each venue we supply so we know they’re getting ales to suit their customers. Our ambition is simple, to consistently produce a great product.
