John is a shareholder in Liverpool Organic Brewery.
He became involved after seeing Mark Hensby’s business plan and as a real ale enthusiast, the idea of a micro-brewery appealed to him.
John worked in the oil and gas production industry until he retired seven years ago. He started his career at 21 working overseas and the job took him to Libya, Oman, Vietnam, America, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Azerbaijan and Egypt.
Both he and Mark were regulars at Stamps Too in Waterloo (which is also in our list of pubs stocking Liverpool Organic Brewery ales) when he decided to invest in the company. They began making test brews, the recipes devised by Head Brewer Karl Critchley. The first brews the two did together, solving teething problems and drawing on John’s production experience, which proved to be invaluable.
John is married with two children, one of which works at Liverpool Organic Brewery.
