New fermenter Installation

Fermenter number 4 will be installed by the end of June at which time the brew length will be increased from 10 to 12.5 barrels (by adjustment of the cleaning heads). This will increase weeky production capacity from 3x10 barrels to 4 x12.5 barrels, or (in gallons) from 1,080 to 1,800, or (in pints) from 8,640 to 14,400. A barrel (British Brewers Barrel) is 36 gallons, most pubs order beer in 9 Gallon "firkins" although more and more of our customer are requesting larger "kilderkins" which are 18 gallons. The installation of ferments 5 and 6 are being scheduled for later this year to further increase production capacity.
